So a few weeks ago I did not offer a Freebie Friday due to GISHWHES. (See that post with some crazy pix from GISHWHES 2012 here.) GISHWHES stands for the Greatest International Scavenger Hunt the World Has Ever Seen! It is an international scavenger hunt hosted by Misha Collins with participants from over 100 countries. This year I was on a team (PurpleRainLovesNorthstars) with 15 people including my son, my mom, 2 friends from high school and some people from around the country whom I’d never met, but were very cool, very creative and lots of fun!
We had to take pictures and videos of unusual, crazy things like someone eating green eggs and ham in a boat with a goat. Now that the hunt is over, I thought you might like to see what crazy, silly things we did. These are just some of the 178 things we could choose from.
I forget exactly what the clue asked for, but it was basically a robot baby. Here our baby takes its first steps from Dad, Matthew, to Mom, Haley.
Muzak during dental exams is so boring. Get a string quartet to play live music during your dental exam. Special thanks to Lisa, Josh, Lavenia, Jayne, Matthew, Haley & Dr. Drew Eckman (not pictured).
Deanne and her daughter, Holly chose the shortest clue in the hunt: Rainbow Teeth.
Using only forced perspective make yourself very small beside something you would not want to be smaller than. How about creepy dolls?
My mom chose one that was to do a close-up of yourself wearing a wreath of flowers and using make-up show yourself in the same spot and clothes with wilted flowers and now you are 90.
Brittany (a new friend on our team from Texas) chose an item that required her to dress as the Dessert Fairy and deliver ice cream to police, firemen or EMS.
Matthew chose one that had you decorate your front lawn with all of your clothes and host a lawn-warming party. (Haley, Josh, Olivia and Matthew.)
Holly, dressed as a superhero, does a very mundane chore–it could have been any chore, but she chose folding laundry. Notice the Batman shirt. That cracks me up! The idea of one superhero wearing another superhero T-shirt on their day off!
Two Jedi Knights drinking a root beer float in a 1950’s style diner. Shout out to Miss Oxford Diner in Oxford, PA!
There were many, many more, but this gives you a good idea of the madness we pursued for a week! If you participated in GISHWHES this year or in the past, I’d love to hear from you in the comments! If you want to join our team next year, let me know! And of course, I would be honored if you could take a moment to follow my blog with Bloglovin.
